Lytron is a leading manufacturer of thermal management systems and components for commercial, industrial, and military customers. With seven cold plate technologies, four varieties of cooling systems, and seven types of heat exchangers, totalling over 100 standard products, Lytron has the range of technologies and the expertise to provide Total Thermal Solutions™. The company was founded in 1958 and currently employs over 180 people. The corporate offices and manufacturing plant are located in Woburn, Massachusetts in the U.S., approximately 15 miles north of Boston.
Lytron’s thermal engineering expertise is unrivaled. The company has a staff of highly trained and experienced degreed thermal and mechanical engineers who are skilled in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and material analysis. The design engineers utilize an extensive toolbox of specialized software including thermal modeling software, analytical tools, solid modeling, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to design high performance and cost-effective solutions for heat transfer challenges.
The 115,000 ft² (10,684 m²) facility is designed to be flexible and agile for maximum throughput of a large number of standard and custom parts for liquid cooling. Lytron’s lean manufacturing principles, vertical integration, and cellular organizational structure make this possible. All performance-critical processes, such as fin-forming, machining, vacuum brazing, and tube bending, are carried out in-house. Lytron operates under an ISO 9001 quality system, which is audited and approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
