Founded by Andrew Rickman in 1988, Bookham made history as the first company in the world to manufacture components that integrated optical processing functions on a silicon chip using high-volume production methods.
Now, Bookham is a publicly traded company that designs, manufactures and markets optical components and subsystems that enable broadband communications.
Bookham boasts two facilities in the United Kingdom, two in the United States, one in Canada, and a newly opened 250,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China.
